At IFA 2025 in Berlin, Acer introduced two new entries to its Nitro lineup: the Nitro V 16 (ANV16-72) and the slimmer, more portable Nitro V 16S (ANV16S-71). Both machines target gamers and creators who want next-gen performance with a dose of AI acceleration, while catering to different needs—one prioritizing raw horsepower, the other mobility.

Nitro V 16: Cinematic Power and AI Acceleration
The Nitro V 16 pushes into premium gaming laptop territory with a spec sheet designed for fluid gameplay and demanding creative workloads. It comes equipped with up to an Intel Core 9 processor 270H paired with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU based on the new Blackwell architecture. That means support for DLSS 4, neural rendering, and NVIDIA Studio features, giving users AI-driven graphics fidelity and speed boosts in both gaming and content creation.
The laptop also taps into NVIDIA NIM microservices, which allow enthusiasts and developers to run advanced AI assistants and workflows directly on their device. Intel’s Application Optimization further manages system resources on the fly, making sure heavy apps get the horsepower they need.
On the visual side, the Nitro V 16 sports a 16-inch WQXGA (2560 × 1600) display with 100% sRGB color coverage and a 180 Hz refresh rate, aimed at both fast-paced gaming and accurate creative work. Keeping all that hardware cool is a dual-fan system with quad intakes and quad exhausts, paired with liquid metal thermal grease to ensure stable performance over long sessions.
Nitro V 16S: Portable Gaming, Everywhere

Nitro V 16S (ANV16-71)
For players who value portability, the Nitro V 16S trims things down without cutting too much performance. Like its sibling, it’s powered by up to an Intel Core 9 270H and RTX 5070 GPU, but the emphasis here is a thinner, lighter form factor. Its metal chassis is just 19.9 mm thick, making it one of the slimmest gaming laptops in Acer’s Nitro series.
The display specs remain the same—16-inch WQXGA, 100% sRGB, 180 Hz—but the Nitro V 16S leans into portability with design touches like a 4-zone RGB keyboard and a modern aesthetic aimed at casual gamers or those new to PC gaming.
Shared Features and Ecosystem
Both laptops integrate Acer’s NitroSense software for real-time monitoring and fan control, as well as the Acer Experience Zone, a hub of AI-powered productivity and creativity apps. Connectivity is handled by Intel Killer DoubleShot Pro for lag-free online play and Thunderbolt 4 for high-speed transfers and external display support.
The Nitro V 16 and V 16S show Acer’s continued effort to broaden its gaming portfolio—balancing AI acceleration, next-gen GPUs, and smart cooling with options that appeal to both performance-driven gamers and those who want something slimmer to carry around.
